Our Process

The 5 easy steps to build your dream shed.

We follow a five step process when it comes to delivering the perfect electrical fitout.

1

Place your order

This is the beginning of your journey, where you visit our website and provide details about your shed and how you would like to enhance it.

  1. Select your desired shed package (Standard or Premium)
  2. Select your trenching distance
  3. Select your optional add-ons
  4. Book us in via the booking system
  5. Pay the 50% deposit to lock in your booking

2

Shed Inspection

A Krest team member will contact you and book in a time to come and inspect the property and shed. The team member is performing this inspection to ensure that the trenching measurement is correct, the package can be installed without any unforseen delays and ensure you are aware of the process. The location of the lights and power outlets will be discussed and approved during this step.

If there are any issues with the site inspection, the team member will discuss those issues with you and provide alternative solutions.

3

Work begins

This is where we arrive onsite to start the works. If applicable, trenching will begin straight away using either a skid steer, mini excavator or trenching machine. Once the trenching is completed, the shed supply cable will be run out to the new shed sub-board.

  1. Trenching completed and conduit run inside the trench
  2. Electrical mains cable installed between house switchboard and shed sub-board
  3. Trenching backfilled and compacted

4

Installation and Energisation

The lights, power and optional add-ons are all installed inside the shed. This is an exciting step as you get to start to see how your sheds fitout will look like! After energisation, the Krest team will test all circuits and fittings to Australian standards of electrical safety and certification.

  1. Lights installed
  2. Socket outlets installed
  3. Add-ons installed
  4. Electrical testing completed and shed energised

5

Final Inspection & Signoff

Our quality assurance inspector will visit the shed site following the final electrical testing and energisation stage. The inspector will ensure that the shed is electrically safe, the fittings are as per your order form, and that all rubbish, tooling and other items are removed from the site.

After the inspector has completed their inspection, the final payment of 50% will be invoiced and due for payment.

FAQs

During this phase, we bring the parts to your home, install the lights, outlets, and any add-ons (like fans or Wi-Fi), and connect the power—via trenching if selected. One everything is installed and tested, we energise the system and do our final checks and quality assurance. Then its handover time !

Yes, you can adjust your package or add-ons after ordering, but we recommend finalizing changes before the inspection to avoid delays. Contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll update your order accordingly.

No worries! Provide an estimate when ordering, and we’ll confirm the exact distance during the inspection. If the distance changes, we’ll adjust the pricing based on our trenching rates per metre.

It’s best if you or someone else can be there during the inspection to discuss your needs and any site-specific details. For the installation, you don’t need to be present, but we’ll coordinate with you to ensure access to the site.

It’s simple! Go to the “Build Your Shed” section and provide details about your shed and how you’d like it powered. Then, follow the steps to select your package, trenching distance, and add-ons before paying a 50% deposit to confirm your order.

We’ll need details about your shed (like its size and location), your preferred package (Standard or Premium), your trenching distance if applicable, and your service address. This helps us tailor the kit and installation to your needs.

If you opt for trenching to run power to your shed, we need to know the distance between your power source (like your house switchboard) and the shed. This determines the cost, which is included in your package price for distances up to 100m. If the distance is greater than 100m, we would need to come and do an inspection.

The 50% deposit locks in your booking and covers initial costs like ordering your parts, preparing your kit, and scheduling the inspection. The remaining balance is due once we’ve completed your shed and finalized the sign off process.

We inspect your shed to ensure the site is ready for installation, check for any unique challenges (like terrain or existing wiring), and confirm that your selected package and add-ons are the perfect fit. A team member will contact you to book a convenient time for this step.

Once we’ve inspected your shed and confirmed the plan, we’ll officially lock in the installation date. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process.
